She’s the second Perini Navi fully built in Turkey, and she’s the first in a new series. The megayacht is State of Grace, and her owners and Perini Navi recently celebrated her launch.
While just shy of 40 meters—39.4 to be exact, or 129 feet—State of Grace is the first in Perini Navi’s 40M Fast Cruising megayacht series. Perini Navi’s in-house team and Ron Holland Design collaborated to ensure the all-aluminum, 220-ton megayacht would handle well in light and heavier air. Ron Holland Design says State of Grace’s design is an evolution of its previous projects with Perini Navi, intended for high-performance globetrotting.
Speaking of performance, Perini Navi designed the controls to be handled easily by just one person. Imagine the power he or she will feel over State of Grace’s sail plan, measuring nearly 12,831 square feet (1,192 square meters). While the photo here was taken before she was rigged, she features a 164-foot-tall (50-meter-high) mast and a furling boom, both comprised of carbon fiber.
Inside, State of Grace, with a beam of 29’10” (9.13 meters), has accommodations for the owner and eight guests. The yard’s own designers arranged the spaces, some of them in an unexpected way, like the inclusion of a gym in the owner’s suite and the layout of the saloon over two levels. The latter keeps socializing in one spot and dining in another. But not everything is different. In typical Perini Navi fashion, a stairway aft on the main deck yields access to the tender garage. There, when the transom folds down, guests can board the 18-foot (5.5-meter) boat to head to shore, harbor hop, and more.
The ABS-classed State of Grace will complete sailing trials this month. Upon delivery, she’ll cross the Atlantic to enjoy the rest of the winter cruising season.
