Come 2015, Codecasa plans to launch the first of its 43 Vintage Series. She’s a modified version of the 42 Vintage Series, based on customer feedback. She’s also replacing that smaller megayacht.
The Codecasa 43 Vintage Series is about 1’6” (0.5 meter) longer. The new LOA is 141 feet, versus 139 feet (43 meters versus 42 meters). She employs most of that extra length aft. This benefits the tender garage and housing of technical systems. Some extra beam is carried forward, too. Codecasa has not released specific measurements. It does say that the beam allows for a larger master suite. It also allows for an owner’s office. One more benefit is for the captain. He or she gets a bridge-deck cabin, versus one below decks.
Alfresco areas are rearranged, too. A private foredeck seating area is now included. It’s a good addition, one that multiple builders of varying styles are including. There was none aboard the 42. The sundeck of both megayachts accommodated a hot tub, but it’s pushed forward on the new project. It’s akin to an aerie, while still being private.
Being part of the Vintage series, the 43 Vintage still reflects classic styling. Codecasa was inspired by a few well-known yachts for the exterior look, including Marlin, a 51-foot commuter built in 1930. Marlin was sometimes used by U.S. President John F. Kennedy, since his father owned her. Regardless of who owns a Codecasa 43 Vintage, he or she can personalize the decor. Larger ports on each deck will bring more light inside for the four guest staterooms and beamier hallways. The central stairway should further benefit. Finally, like the 42, this new megayacht should see a 4,000-nautical-mile range at 11 knots. Top speed is just a bit higher, reportedly 17 knots. Power comes from twin 1,650-hp Caterpillars.
Construction on hull number one started in the past few weeks. She’s for sale, with launch in 2015.
