A 233-foot (71-meter) megayacht built at a shipyard focused on atomic submarines for the Russian navy is currently at ISA Yachts for final systems and interior installations.
The megayacht is rumored to be christened Victoria. She was built at Sevmash in Arkhangelsk, Russia. She’s the first yacht ever built there, and launched last September. (Besides atomic submarines, Sevmash also builds vessels and equipment for the oil and gas industry. It’s part of Russia’s largest shipbuilding operations.) The owner chose the shipyard as the base for his own brand, Baltika Yachts. Sevmash referred to her as project A 1331. It conducted initial in-water tests through November. Published reports at the time quoted Sevmash as saying the yacht would be sent to Italy for final fit-out. She arrived at ISA Yachts in December. The Ancona-based yacht builder has just released confirmation and some details.
ISA Yachts has been installing the remaining technical systems since Victoria arrived. The builder is also testing them. Furthermore, ISA Yachts is completing the interior and teak decking. Twelve passengers and 14 crew are accommodated aboard. Beam is 36 feet (11 meters). The layout is mostly traditional, with a formal saloon and dining area on the main deck. The skylounge serves as a TV lounge. One notable difference is the inclusion of two owners’ suites. One is on the lower deck, with a fold-down balcony right above the water. The other suite is on the main deck. H2 Yacht Design, hired by the owner at the contract signing, penned an Art Deco decor. The same design studio styled the exterior, which strikes quite a contrast against the genteel nature of Art Deco.
According to data from Sevmash and H2 Yacht Design, Victoria is intended to see a top speed of 20 knots. Draft is 12’5” (3.8 meters), so you can expect only deep-water cruising lies ahead.
The owner of Victoria planned a sistership, with H2 Yacht Design, straight from the start. No other details are yet available, outside of her featuring an indoor pool.
