Coinciding with Custom Line’s 20th anniversary, the Italian builder is constructing its largest model, the Navetta 37.
At 121’5” (37.04 meters), the Navetta 37 incorporates a few engineering differences compared to her smaller sisters. She’s the first Custom Line with a bulbous bow, for example. The Navetta 37 also offers four engine packages from which to choose. The standard one involves twin 8V 2000 MTU M94s. Ten- and 12-cylinder MTUs are also available, as are twin high-speed engines from the French manufacturer Baudouin. Custom Line has not revealed anticipated performance figures for any of the packages. Neither has the builder revealed anticipated ranges. With draft at 6’9” (2.1 meters), however, the Navetta 37 should be able to cruise skinny waters.
Some styling differences are also incorporated on the Navetta 37. There’s the ever-increasing use of nearly full-height glass along the main and upper decks. Her profile is a little softer than that of some of her sisters, too. She further has a higher bow and partial side decks on the main deck, in turn allowing for a full-beam master.
The master suite, four guest staterooms below decks, and other relaxation spaces can be designed as you wish, in keeping with Custom Line tradition. The general arrangement for the Navetta 37 is fairly traditional. The saloon, dining area, and galley are all on the main deck. (On a related note, the Navetta 37 was introduced at the Yacht & Brokerage Show in Miami in February. Since the Ferretti Group has a significant American clientele, the galley-up arrangement follows suit.) Floor-to-ceiling glass doors in the saloon (below) open out to the starboard side deck, and are optional for the port side. More opening glass lies in the skylounge.
Alfresco areas don’t disappoint. There’s a sundeck with a hardtop, providing shade when wanted. The Navetta 37 also includes a grill, refrigerator, hot tub, and space for loose lounges. On the same level as the upper deck, the Navetta 37 additionally has a bow cockpit. Dining, cocktails at sunset, and of course sunning can all take place here. The sunpads cover a stowage area for a PWC or second tender. The primary tender is housed in a customary garage aft on the main deck. Just as is featured on some other Custom Line models, the Dual Mode Transom makes launching and retrieving the primary tender easier. It also makes for a nice beach club aboard the Navetta 37. If you only plan to tote one tender, the Navetta 37 can alternately feature a hot tub with surrounding sunpads in the bow cockpit. Regardless of configuration, your crew can set up curtains to make the area more private.
Speaking of the crew, crew traffic flows along the port side of the yacht. The entry to the galley includes a dumbwaiter to transfer food and drinks to the upper deck. Crew also get their own stairway down to three cabins (the captain’s cabin is aft of the wheelhouse) and a crew mess.
The Ferretti Group says it’s making a concerted effort to keep sound and vibrations to a minimum aboard the Navetta 37. That should make buyers and guests happier when they’re playing with the VOTIS (Videoworks One Touch Infotainment System). A single touchpad controller lets you play music or movies, dim lights, and operate other ambiance-related items. You can connect your smartphone and/or tablet to the system, too.
