The yard is still finalizing engineering, but the Vestal Series is The Italian Sea Group’s marked effort to attract more megayacht buyers from the United States and Latin America.
The Italian Sea Group even sought out an American naval architecture firm for the Vestal Series, being offered via its Admiral brand: Setzer Yacht Architects. The three designs comprising the series—the Vestal 4200, 5000, and 6200—represent a meeting of the minds. Ward Setzer of Setzer Yacht Architects says he created the initial concepts in 2013 during an extended period in Antigua. He describes that period as a sabbatical, though interesting enough he was inspired to pen several new designs. They were based on styles he repeatedly saw in the harbor. (For more on those designs overall, see “New American Motoryacht Series From Setzer Yacht Architects.”) The Italian Sea Group took note of some of those designs, which became Admiral’s Vestal Series.
Each model in the Vestal Series has a draft suitable for Caribbean cruising. Each megayacht additionally has open layouts, oversize ports, and even skylights. The Vestal 4200, 5000, and 6200 are each named for their length in meters: 42 meters, 50 meters, and 62 meters. In feet, the Vestal 4200 (above) is 138 feet, the Vestal 5000 is 164 feet, and the Vestal 6200 (below) is 203 feet. The smallest of the three is an all-aluminum, semi-displacement configuration. The other two feature steel, full-displacement hulls.
As stated above, the builder is completing analysis on performance and other engineering-related aspects. For now, we can reveal that the Vestal 4200 is a trideck with a beach club, unusual for her LOA. She further has a balcony off the saloon and an optional crow’s nest. The Vestal 5000 and Vestal 6200 also, of course, have beach clubs, with the latter’s area additionally having a coffee bar. The 5000 stows tenders in two bow garages and toys just forward of the beach club. The Vestal 6200 provides the owners with a private lounge and spa on their own deck, plus two VIP suite with retractable balconies.
We’ll have more on the Vestal Series as information becomes available.
