The newest FlyingSport 102 from CCN may only have launched yesterday, but soon she’ll be “flying” for sure. The megayacht is capable of speeds upwards of 30 knots.
Speed and style are characteristics of the FlyingSport 102 (and her smaller sister, the FlyingSport 86). The styling is new for the series: sleeker, more streamlined. Owners can still arrange the interior as they wish, though. The owner of hull number four selected dark woods, marbles, and lacquered surfaces. The saloon, pictured at top, is particularly striking. Amidships, there’s backlit, lattice-like bamboo, with mirrored panels to each side. Serigraphed (screen-printed) glass is here, too. Leather frames the entry from the aft-deck seating area, to strong effect.
Speaking of leather, that’s another attraction of the interior. This fourth Flying Sport 102 makes liberal use of analine leather. This is leather that’s tanned in a way to avoid covering up the natural scars or pores of the animal skin.
The owners chose three guest staterooms to accompany theirs below decks. Note that owners of previous 102s have had as few as two guest cabins. A three-person crew stays aboard as well. Their cabins are forward, while their mess joins the laundry aft. The captain gets a cabin adjacent to the helm, unusual for the FlyingSport 102. It’s also unusual for any megayacht of her size range. As for the helm, Cerri redesigned the instrument layout and rimmed it in leather. It lets the captain take command of the twin MTUs and surface drives in style.
You can see hull number four of the FlyingSport 102 at the Cannes Yachting Festival as well as the Monaco Yacht Show, both in September.
