The team behind the OceaNemo series is soon starting construction on the second model, on spec. She’s the OceaNemo 33, the smaller of the two announced so far.
As a reminder, the OceaNemo series embraces adventure cruising and toting significant toys. Aldo Manna, founder and CEO of the brokerage and management firm MC Yacht & Co., came up with the idea. He approached Fulvio di Simoni and Ocea Yachts to design and build them, respectively. The trio term the yachts “sport-utility yachts” for the same reasons that SUVs earned their name: cargo- and people-carrying capacity, plus performance.
Similar to the OceaNemo 44 in build, the OceaNemo 33 has an ample garage for toys. the 109’9” (33.5-meter) megayacht can carry a 23-foot (7-meter) tender plus six PWCs. That tender is larger than you’d expect to see on a megayacht of this LOA. The garage can additionally house the crew tender, measuring about 15 feet (4.5 meters). Having all of these watercraft inside further sets the OceaNemo 33 apart. For perspective, the garage encompasses 603 square feet (56 square meters). The beam is healthy as well, at 27’9” (8.5 meters).
These aren’t the only toys the megayacht will tote, though. A raised deck area among her four decks is being reinforced for a combination of craft. The OceaNemo can keep a 19-foot (5.8-meter) sportfisherman and a 12-foot (3.7-meter) sailboat here. Or, the eventual owner can place a personal sub here. Yet another possibility is an inflatable slide, and its carrying case.
The eventual owner can also tailor the interior to his or her liking. Sure to attract interest: the owner’s suite, occupying much of the upper deck. Four guest staterooms are below decks, as are the captain’s cabin and two crew cabins. Like the OceaNemo 44, the OceaNemo 33 has a mostly open-air dining area aft on the main deck. The renderings below, from Fulvio di Simoni, show the decor and arrangement possibilities.
Also open to choice is the propulsion system. Twin 475-hp Caterpillar C18s are projected to permit a 10-knot cruising speed. Alternately, the OceaNemo 33 can feature diesel-electric propulsion. The build and design team anticipates this will save 20 percent on fuel in comparison to conventionally powered, similar-size megayachts. Regardless, the 5’9” (1.8-meter) draft will ensure access to shallow waters of your choosing.
Price: just under 13 million euros.
