With a length of 279 feet (85 meters) and a beam closing in on 49 feet (14.8 meters), the code-named project Sasha is outside of her build shed at Lürssen. Her nameboard reveals her true identity: Areti.
While yacht spotters saw Areti out on the water earlier this month, the yard says the official launch took place yesterday.
Winch Design is responsible for both the exterior styling and interior design. In fact, Lürssen describes the overall look as a pairing of a sleek, modern profile with a traditional yet “fresh” interior decor.
Specifics aren’t available on the decor. For now, the shipyard simply says that Areti has eight guest staterooms accompanying the master suite. (It’s probably safe to assume that the master suite is full beam, too, either on the main deck or an upper deck.) Besides enjoying several alfresco areas where they can relax and/or dine, the owner’s party has indulgent interior areas. They include a spa, outfitted with a sauna and hammam. Areti also has a hot tub and a deep plunge pool in here. The spa is in a traditional location, the aft portion of the lower deck. And, given that location, it’s in proximity to a beach club.
Sea trials should begin soon, with delivery set for summer. Areti meets the requirements of the Passenger Yacht Code.
Areti is just one of several superyachts where Winch Design and Lürssen have collaborated. She’s also one of several superyachts commissioned over the years by the owner. About ten years ago, he commissioned Burger Boat Company to build two identical megayachts measuring 127 feet (38.7 meters). The owner christened them Areti I and Areti II. Upon their delivery in 2007, the owner kept one in the United States and the other in the Med. Then, in 2011, he took delivery of a 197-foot (60-meter) from Trinity Yachts. On a related side note, she marked Trinity’s largest all-aluminum yacht at that time.
