In front of a crowd of Hatteras’ VIP customers as well as media, the M90 Panacera pulled into view on a late-summer evening in North Carolina. Befitting the occasion, fireworks heralded her arrival (below).
Previously called the 90 Motor Yacht, the M90 Panacera gets her new designation from two key characteristics. While part is due to panoramic views from her interior arrangement, the rest is due to an open floorplan. “Open” is a key word. Between the fold-down balcony off the saloon’s port side and the skylight-topped atrium setting of the galley, the M90 Panacera has advantages of a much larger megayacht. This with beam already being good, at 22’6” (6.86 meters). Add the open flying bridge for hull number one, and you and your guests have plenty to appreciate.
Note, too, that Hatteras offers flexible arrangements. For one, the M90 Panacera can have an enclosed bridge. (The buyers of hull number two, under construction, went this route.) For interior dining, you might like a traditional dining area in proximity to the saloon seating area. Or, take your meals at a C-shape dinette beneath the atrium (below). Then again, why forego one for the other? Hull number one has both dining areas, and it may be a good bet to say most buyers will follow suit.
The 91’9” M90 Panacera places all staterooms below decks. Naturally, your cabin spans the beam amidships. Rosewood cabinetry adorns hull number one, a spec project, all crafted in house. Three other staterooms take care of your guests, while your captain and two capable hands get two staterooms, respectively, in separate quarters. The crew even get a small galley/lounge. Access is via an aft-deck door.
Your crew will appreciate the M90 Panacera as well. Hatteras’ proprietary HattCON system debuts on the megayacht. In brief, the system integrates navigation and other operational information. With one touch, captains can call up the data they wish on the helm screens. If the weather stirs up seas, a customary point-and-click control comes in handy. The system offers the fingertip-accessible information more typical of far larger megayachts.
Hatteras didn’t leave you or your guests out of the accessible equation, though. In fact, it worked with Crestron to put climate and infotainment control at your fingertips. For example, you can set and activate different lighting moods throughout the megayacht. In addition, iPads control music and movies.
We’ll have a Megayacht News Onboard feature in a few weeks, incorporating our sea-trial experience. For now, Hatteras says the M90 Panacera should see a cruise speed of 22 knots, under standard twin 1,600-hp Caterpillars. (Twin 1,800- and 1,900-hp Cats and MTUs are also available.) Range should be 428 nautical miles at that cruise speed.
