The Hacker Boat Company is renowned for its all-mahogany boats, called Hacker-Craft. Made in America since the early 1900s, Hacker-Crafts serve as tenders aboard megayachts, and as primary boats. They’re mostly classic-looking runabouts, with styles that suit decades of history. However, more contemporary styles are catching on, too. Witness this Hacker-Craft limousine tender.
One of three built to date, she’s a fully custom tender, just like her sisters. LOA: 33’6” (10.2 meters). With a 12-passenger capacity, along with three crewmembers, this Hacker-Craft limousine tender can take a good-size crowd from shore out to your anchorage. In fact, George Badcock, Hacker Boat Company’s CEO, says, “It makes real our belief that ‘the luxury begins before you reach the yacht.’”
That luxury includes a leather-lined interior. The owner of this particular boat requested an emblem, perhaps to coordinate with his primary yacht. Note the beverage holders as well, with multiple coats of varnish, just like the tender. The shipyard did all of this work itself. Indeed, Hacker Boat Company handles all aspects of design, construction, and outfitting in its New York State facility. It’s located in Lake George. (Related to this, Hacker is the only boatbuilder still prioritizing all-wood construction.)
Other aspects about this limousine tender to note: she’s low profile, just 6’3” (1.9 meters), so not a problem for a tender garage. The same is true for her beam, 8’10” (about 2.5 meters).
Look for the Hacker-Craft limousine tender at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. She’ll be on display alongside a different Hacker, a 25-foot Special Sport, more like the classic designs from the builder. In the meantime, a fourth Hacker-Craft limousine tender should start construction in December for another customer. She’ll be the biggest one yet, measuring 35 feet (about 10.7 meters).
