Here’s a glimpse at the first hull of a new range for ISA Yachts, announced just this fall. The ISA Alloy 43 represents another important step: the second contract signed since the builder restarted operations a year ago.
As the series name suggests, the 141-foot (43-meter) megayacht is an all-aluminum project. While the photo here just shows part of her hull, her styling, by Luca Dini Design, hints at the curvy, sleek features characterizing most of ISA’s nearly three dozen deliveries to date.
Hull construction should be wrapping up right in time for the holidays. Currently, ISA’s welders are cutting plates for and/or assembling the bow and stern sections in other parts of the shipyard. Building a boat in sections, concurrently, is common practice in commercial shipbuilding. Though not as common in yachting, it saves time in completing a yacht for delivery. To put the ISA Alloy 43 timetable into perspective, initial plate cutting started in late summer. The hull and superstructure should join together next month.
Since the owner of this ISA Alloy 43 has enjoyed yachting aboard a number of boats, he had particular ideas for this project. For example, he requested a good deal of sound and vibration attenuation. He also wanted a good turn of speed. The ISA Alloy 43 should see a 20-knot maximum speed as a result. The twin 2,000-hp MTUs should also allow for a range upwards of 3,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. In addition, to permit access to relatively shallow regions, draft will be about 7’6” (2.3 meters).
Upon delivery in 2019, the owner will welcome eight guests aboard for cruises. Bearing a 26’6” (8.1-meter) beam, the megayacht will boast what ISA says is an extra-ample beach club. Depicted above, it, along with the rest of the interior, bears Luca Dini’s signature, too.
