With all of the emphasis on custom tenders, sometimes a simple RIB is really all you need. Technohull has a sub-24-foot solution, small enough for on-deck stowage and fast enough for watersports and more. The Technohull T688 may in fact be the Greek company’s smallest solution, but packs plenty of fun into the package.
The Technohull T688 follows in the footsteps of the manufacturer’s other high-performance models. (High-performance is an understatement. The Technohull seaDNA 999G5 model can reportedly hit 90 knots.) Measuring 23’6” (7.2 meters), it should hit a max speed upwards of 50 knots. Final speed depends on which outboard engine you select. Technohull offers two-stroke options from 150 to 250 hp, as well as four-stroke options from 150 to 200 hp.
With 8’4” (2.55 meters) of beam, the Technohull T688 is well suited to serving as a superyacht tender, taking guests to shore. In fact, a bow gangway lets them step from their seats to the sand. But, the RIB is also ideal for day trips on the water. Two guests can sunbathe forward, while three more people can sit across the settee fully aft. Yet another single seat is aboard, too, tucked into the forward part of the center console. No matter where anyone sits, a retractable swim ladder invites them to take a dip to cool off.
For the crew’s needs, the RIB can carry provisions, spare parts, and more. It also comes with a locker within the center console. Whether standing or sitting, the tender driver surely will appreciate the shock-absorbing cushions, for comfort.
Many RIBs are simply that, just RIBs. Technohull recognizes that a little flair can go a long way. That’s why it offers an optional, sporty-looking T-top (above).
Technohull makes all of its RIBs in house, employing multi-directional fibers for the tubes.
