Due to the growth of the American market, the AV and IT specialist Videoworks Group has a new subsidiary office in Fort Lauderdale. Videoworks of Americas marks an important expansion for the European company.
With three other offices across Italy and The Netherlands, Videoworks has thus far focused primarily on European-built and -operated megayachts. However, the management team has noticed more yachts heading stateside and to the Caribbean to cruise. In addition, several spec-built projects from European yards come to the United States purposely to sell. Furthermore, the management team sees more build and refit activity on American shores. Videoworks of Americas intends to target each of these with its regular services. Those services include setting up iPads throughout the yacht that can display navigation and location information (top). They also include lighting design, like that of the Perini Navi Seven (below).
Mauro Frattesi, who has been part of Videoworks’ management for several years, is now Videoworks of Americas’ CEO. “With a direct presence in North America and the Caribbean, and a dedicated team of 10 technicians based in Fort Lauderdale, we will be able to provide all our customers with instance service and practical technical support,” Frattesi explains.
Videoworks of Americas does not only install AV and IT systems. The technicians train the crew on operating and trouble-shooting the systems, for instance. Of course, they remain on call for service and/or ongoing assistance. Service includes preventive maintenance as well as replacing components, too. Furthermore, it includes regular technical updating for crewmembers, since megayachts inevitably have turnover.
Interestingly, the new office will even provide technical assistance for American-owned yachts under construction in Europe. In this case, Videoworks of Americas technicians will provide crew training right at the shipyard. This way, before the yacht departs for American shores, the crew (and, in turn, the owners and guests) can begin using the systems without delay.
