Often a name tells you a lot about what a yacht has in store. In the case of Extra Yachts, you can expect more voluminous spaces. But, you can expect less, too, in terms of fuel consumption. The largest megayacht in the six-model range, the Extra 130 Alloy, launches in just a few weeks.
Originally a series under the ISA Yachts brand, Extra Yachts is an independent brand of its own now. (On a related note, construction still occurs at the ISA facility, in Ancona, Italy.) The first model, the Extra 76, made her global premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival last year. She features strikingly modern styling by Francesco Guida. Undoubtably, the attention-getter is a pleasantly surprising extended aft deck. In addition, she is beamier than similar-size yachts. The Extra 130 Alloy also bears Guida’s handiwork, along with an equally noteworthy 28-foot (8.6-meter) beam for her 130-foot (39.7-meter) length. While she, too, has extended alfresco areas, she is not a carbon copy of her sister.
Due to her larger length, the Extra 130 Alloy carries accommodations for 10 to 12, spread between the main deck and lower deck. Naturally, the master suite sits forward on the main deck. Interestingly, the upper deck extends entirely over the master. In fact, a U-shape dining area and a large sunpad sit atop it, with more sunning, seating, and dining areas all aft. Even with the forward relaxation area, crew still can move about at the bow, plus have full side decks to access.
For entertaining inside, the Extra 130 Alloy strives to keep the atmosphere light and bright. Whether customers select tones like the ones seen at top or richer hues, they have floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the saloon. Notably absent, but not an issue, is a beach club. This is due to a tender garage, housing a 17’6″ (5.36-meter) primary boat plus a PWC. But, it also is due to the longer aft deck. Though the rendering here does not show it, the walls of the saloon are pushed forward. This, in combination with the cascading steps down to the swim platform, make the aft deck extra capacious.
This first Extra 130 Alloy makes her boat-show debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.
In related news, a European buyer has commissioned an Extra 76. While we do not yet know what the new buyer will do decor-wise, guests will have ample room at hand. In fact, the series offers a 22-foot (6.8-meter) beam, quite broad for the length.
