Kyle Buckett (pictured below, at left) has a passion for surfing. He’s also a former Navy SEAL. Four years ago, he co-founded One More Wave, a non-profit supplying custom surfing equipment to veterans, many of whom suffer from physical disabilities and mental trauma. Some are even suicidal. To that point, One More Wave provides these veterans with a sense of community, and much-needed therapy, through the ocean and a global group of surfing volunteers. The president of Ulysse Nardin Americas was so struck by the story and achievements of One More Wave that the watch company invited Buckett to help design a watch. The limited-edition Diver Deep Dive “One More Wave” watch is the result.
We tell you more about this one-of-a-kind timepiece, engraved with the One More Wave logo on the back of the case, in the November edition of the MegayachtNews.com newsletter.
Just as we do every month, the newsletter includes information not found here on our daily website. For example, we ask if the longstanding boat-show format is in need of an overhaul. Judging from our inbox so far, many of you believe change is needed. Furthermore, we update you on the latest with Derecktor Ft. Pierce, and how Sam Sorgiovanni has a new physical presence in Europe.
The MegayachtNews.com newsletter goes out on a subscriber-only basis. If you’re not currently a subscriber, sign up below. We’ll make sure you receive the October newsletter within the next few days, and the upcoming monthly emails accordingly.
In the meantime, note that a portion of the sales of the watch will go directly to funding One More Wave programs. You can also volunteer to help, via onemorewave.net,
