Sea trials are underway for Stefania, belonging to a family who look forward to the upcoming Mediterranean cruising season. Besides looking different than other megayachts in the harbor, this Dynamiq build features systems atypical of other cruisers.
A Dynamiq GTT 135 model, Stefania measures 134’5” (41 meters), the largest megayacht to date for Dynamiq. She bears a round-bilge hull form by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, which also equipped her with its patented Hull Vane. In brief, this is a stern-mounted hydrofoil that reduces resistance underway, up to 30 percent reportedly in this specific case. Additionally, the Hull Vane helps reduce pitching, which the owners will appreciate whether in their home waters of the Mediterranean or the Caribbean. The owners should further renjoy a range of 3,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, according to Dynamiq, and a top speed of 20 knots with twin MAN engines.
Besides the Hull Vane, another notable item onboard is a torque-compensation system from Rubber Design. The Dutch firm says its engine gearbox mounts are much less stiff than conventionally used ones. Therefore, Rubber Design says, this results in far less low-frequency vibration transferring through the yacht.
Less vibration means a more enjoyable time onboard, and Stefania puts plenty of enjoyment at her owners’ and guests’ disposal. For instance, since the owners plan to spend plenty of days outside, the main deck has a pool. Stefania also has a hot tub on the sundeck. Meanwhile, a bar inside her beach club and another bar in proximity to the hot tub—along with two 75-inch TVs—up the entertainment factor. Inside, Giuseppina Arena created an Art Deco backdrop for the owners’ party of 10. Surely, the fireplace—a working one—in the saloon will be a focal point, and a draw for casual conversations. It may just be the perfect place to wrap up the day, before heading below decks to the staterooms. All staterooms, including the master, sit down here.
Stefania meets RINA Commercial Class, since she will charter, as well as RINA Comfort Class and Green Star Plus notations.
Dynamiq has a second GTT 135 in build on spec, with delivery set for next summer.
