Most of the yachts coming out of Horizon Yachts’ sheds recently have gone to customers around the world. The newly launched, third Horizon FD92, however, is a spec build that will be stateside within the next month.
Similar to the first FD92, Crowned Eagle, the latest megayacht has five staterooms, including a main-deck master suite making the most of the 23’3” (7.11-meter) beam. Satin-finished walnut, with high-gloss wenge, accentuates the decor throughout the yacht. This third Horizon FD92 additionally has a leather-wrapped wall in each of the staterooms, where the TVs also mount. For the convenience of your friends and family, a mini bar is in the foyer outside of the four guest staterooms below decks.
If you enjoy entertaining, you’ll appreciate the main-deck layout. While it’s traditional in having a saloon, dining area, and galley in that order, it also has a bar (above) with glassware stowage. It’s aft in the saloon, conveniently in proximity to the aft deck. Further convenient for entertaining, the coffee table just outside converts to an additional dining table. The galley, meanwhile, has a hi-lo partition to close off the cooking area for more formal affairs.
The owners of Crowned Eagle were the big influences behind this model being a trideck. Therefore, like the rest of the series, the third Horizon FD92 has both an enclosed skylounge with a helm and an open-air sundeck with a third helm. It’s a nice amount of flexibility, for both you and your captain. Furthermore, since guest seating is just aft of each steering station, your guests can watch shores come into view.
Of course, they’ll probably spend most of their time relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. The megayacht has sunpads on the uppermost deck, along with a bar to keep everyone refreshed. Another bar is one deck down, outside of the skylounge, and this time equipped with barstools. Even the large hot tub on the same deck has its own bar counter, plus the stools can convert to a sunpad with a large cover. Finally, when the crew drops anchor, you can ask them to open the transom beach club, to enjoy the rest of the day.
