Hawaii holds a special place in the heart of the owners of Halekai (pronounced ha-lay-kay). They not only chose their yacht’s name from a Hawaiian term, but also have a Hawaiian-themed interior to enjoy.
Having celebrated her launch in August and delivery in October, the sailing superyacht is a Hoek Truly Classic 128. Therefore, she follows in the footsteps of Vijonara, which saw delivery from Pendennis in 2018. Two further Truly Classic 128s, so-named for their classic appeal, are on the water, too.
Even though she shares the hull design and classic good looks of the first two Hoek Truly 128 deliveries, however, Halekai is still the expression of her owners’ vision. They worked closely with Hoek Design for the interior layout and with New York-based designer Ken Fulk for the décor. Having owned a few sailing yachts over prior years, they knew the ambience and arrangement that would work well with their global cruising ambitions.
Unfortunately, this video does not give an inside look at that ambience. Regardless, Pendennis anticipates having more to share of her in the coming months. In the meantime, enjoy these views of Halekai cruising along the Cornish coast.
