“Could this be the best excuse to go sailing with a superyacht?” Breed Media, one of the best multi-media companies specializing in yachting, asks this simple question on its YouTube post for this video. Our answer is an emphatic yes.
The footage is from the recently concluded New Zealand Millennium Cup, which marked a return to yacht racing for owners and crew everywhere. More to the point, it was the first international regatta since COVID-19 began spreading around the world early last year. From the opening seconds of the video, you feel as if you really are sailing with a superyacht.
Firstly, you’re perched on the bowsprit—just as your yacht crashes through a wave and sends spray everywhere. You’re in the water, staring down the bow. The next moment, you’re quickly gathering the sails on deck with your fellow crew. Then, you’re swinging over the side and into the water for a refreshing cool down. Suddenly, dolphins are leaping and displaying all sorts of acrobatics alongside you. The exhilaration is palatable.
As the lyrics to the music accompanying the video say:
I’m not doing this to try to make a name
I just like the way it feels honey
The way it looks on me
If this doesn’t convince you to go sailing with a superyacht by buying one or chartering one, nothing will. Ultimately, it’s all about “sun, swim, dolphins, and more fun than you could shake a stick at,” as Breed Media notes.
Oh, and once you make your buying or chartering plan, make sure you register for the 2022 New Zealand Millennium Cup, too.
