Palumbo Superyachts sees more potential for the new Columbus Atlantique series of superyachts, which blends classic sailing-yacht design with sporty automotive design. The latest models in the lineup are the entry-level Atlantique 37 and the flagship Atlantique 55.
Columbus introduced the series with the Atlantique 43 earlier this year, hull number one of which has sold to a European customer for a 2023 delivery. The 141-footer (43-meter) features styling by Hot Lab, echoing classic sailing-yacht stern scoops while simultaneously presenting looks and comforts contemporary cruisers crave. For instance, since space is always in demand, the sides of the stern fold down, creating a larger beach-like area. Additionally, a pool sits here, something else today’s customers want.
Both of the new Columbus Atlantique models have those same features, although of course to different scales. The Atlantique 55, a 180-footer (55-meter), has an especially eye-catching aft playground of sorts (above). Despite her 121 feet (37 meters) of length, though, the Atlantique 37 does not disappoint with her aft alfresco area.
Each new model has her own attractions as well. For example, the Atlantique 37 includes a main-deck owners’ suite. She further has two dining areas for 10 people, with the interior one being on the upper deck instead of the main deck. This allows for a large, extra-relaxing saloon on the main deck (above, large image). Interestingly, the upper-deck dining area has large, rounded windows that can slide open horizontally or vertically. Off-yacht fun comes in the form of two tender holds, one to starboard and a hangar-like one forward.
Meanwhile, the Columbus Atlantique 55 is quite voluminous, at 900 gross tons within four decks. To really emphasize outdoor living, the beach area is the lowest level of a three-tier area. It has a bar at the uppermost level, adjacent to the saloon entry, plus a big C-shape settee and cocktail table on the center level. While eight guests can stay below decks, you have two layouts available for your main-deck suite. Firstly, opt for the one with the gym and private balcony. Alternately, choose the configuration that includes a fifth cabin, perhaps for staff or youngsters, plus a balcony. And, finally, you get a second pool on the sundeck, with toys below in a forward garage.
