One of the world’s largest megayacht conversion projects is available for sale. Due to significant work already completed, the 394-foot (120-meter) Project Y910 can see delivery in 18 months.
Represented by Monaco-based Althaus Luxury Yachting, Project Y910 was originally a passenger vessel. Built in 1990 in Poland, she served in Russia until 1998. Additionally, her original LOA was 295 feet (90 meters). A first phase of conversion began in Singapore in 2000, seeing her stretch to her current LOA. Interestingly, the only original components remaining are her diesel-electric engines and hull. Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups, has her at its Trieste, Italy facility.
While the crew area, for 50 capable hands, is about 80 percent complete, the rest of Project Y910 is a blank slate. Therefore, the 6,000-gross-ton megayacht offers extensive customization. Of course, to pique interest, the animation below reveals several lifestyle possibilities. Project Y910 can carry two helicopters on certified helipads, one of which opens to reveal a helic garage. Also on deck, an owners’ party of 36 can indulge in large swimming pools, as well as a hot tub perched high up on her eighth deck. Several tender bays, including a full-beam one, are possible, too.
Equally noteworthy, Project Y910 offers tremendous range and the ability to cruise from the tropics to ice-laden waters. In fact, her hull is classed to DNV Ice Class 1A, the classification society’s highest notation for vessels in extreme to moderate ice. Waste-heat recovery systems and the ability to operate on an electric motor keep her mindful of the environment, too. The megayacht should be capable of a maximum 9 knots with the electric motor and 16 knots with her diesel engines. Range, meanwhile, should be 10,000 nautical miles at 14 knots.
The Althaus Luxury Yachting team will be at the Monaco Yacht Show this week to discuss options. The brokerage further can arrange visits to the shipyard.
