Menorca, Spain plays host to Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3, with the first episode premiering in the United States on February 21. Reality-TV fans will see some familiar faces, alongside several new ones. Of course, they’ll also see stunning scenery, a slice of yacht-charter life, and plenty of drama.
The new episodes follow guest and crew highs and lows aboard the 177-foot (54-meter) sailing superyacht Parsifal III. Season 3 comes nearly a year after season 2, which featured Parsifal III in Croatia. Season 1, originally airing in 2020, saw the same yacht, too, this time in Greece. Parsifal III’s real captain, Glenn Shephard (below), is at her helm in every episode, including the new season. In fact, Shephard has been at the helm of the yacht for 12 years.
Filming took place last August in Spain, where the yacht had been available for charter all year. Returning with Shephard is chief stew Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae, and first mate Gary King. Two new stews, two new deckhands, and a new chef are in season 3 as well.
Similar to an episode from last year, Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 has some alarming moments. In season 2, while Shephard was docking the yacht, the thrusters suddenly stopped working. Parsifal III continued moving astern, and therefore crashed into the dock. Although only a teaser is available for season 3, it reveals Shephard and the crew concerned the yacht is dragging her anchor. “You can lose the boat,” he explains, in footage contained in the official preview. “It’s about as serious as it gets.”
As Shephard says in one episode, “When you go sailing, you never really know what the conditions are gonna be like. If it were easier, everybody would be doing it!”
Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 airs on Bravo. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Peacock.
