The storied Riva continues to make inroads into the superyacht lifestyle. The largest model to date, the Riva 54 Metri, has a buyer. Construction will begin soon at the Ancona, Italy shipyard where all the large steel and aluminum Ferretti Group yachts take shape.
The 177-footer (54-meter) is he second project in the Riva Superyachts Division. In fact, she’s following in the footsteps of the Riva 50 Metri. Hull number one in that series debuted in 2019. The late Carlo Riva, founder of the yachting brand bearing his name, had long dreamed of seeing superyachts join the smaller projects that earned Riva renown.
To keep a family feel with the entire Riva line, the Riva 54 Metri bears styling by Officina Italiana Design. The Bergamo-based studio has penned all modern Rivas. Fans of Riva’s looks will note counter-curved windows, for instance. There also will be strong contrasting of light-reflecting and shadow-creating surfaces within her all-aluminum profile.
For greater enjoyment of the oceangoing lifestyle, the Riva 54 Metri has abundant alfresco areas. In fact, nearly 3,983 square feet (370 square meters) are for lounging, sunning, dining, and more. The most prominent area arguably is the open-air beach club. With fold-down platforms to each side, it features a pool and encourages sunbathers to cool off in the ocean mere inches away. Further private escapes await at the bow lounge and up on the sundeck.
Although generally speaking, the Riva 54 Metri can accommodate 10 to 12 passengers, the number of staterooms aboard hull one remains confidential. Regardless, all guests will get to enjoy a wellness area containing a spa, a gym, and a plunge pool.
Expect delivery in 2025. The owner’s Kuwait-based representative negotiated the contract and will continue liaising as the construction advances, too.
Meanwhile, this hull will join 10 other steel and aluminum superyachts currently in build at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard. Those projects belong to Riva’s sister brands, namely CRN, Custom Line, and Pershing.
