With her shark-grey paint job shining in the sunlight, the aptly christened Riva 50 Metri Fifty slipped into the water in Italy during a private celebration. This is the second megayacht in the largest series from Riva so far.
A longtime dream of the late Riva founder, Carlo Riva, the Riva 50 Metri comes from the design studio Officina Italiana Design, like all of the shipyard’s projects. Furthermore, the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Committee, which oversees engineering and related needs for the Ferretti Group brands, contributed. At 164 feet (50 meters) in length and with a beam just shy of 30 feet (9 meters), the megayacht combines the spaciousness of a superyacht with the symbols of Rivas throughout history. Namely, mahogany, stainless steel, and glass accents are everywhere onboard.
Just like similar-size yachts, the Riva 50 Metri Fifty can accommodate an owner’s party of 12. While the shipyard hasn’t said how the staterooms are arranged on this new launch, the first hull in the series, Race, placed the VIP and the master suite on the main deck. Regardless, it is easy to imagine that Fifty further has a beach club, since these are de rigueur aboard yachts these days.
Sea trials should confirm the steel and aluminum megayacht has a cruising speed of 14 knots and a top speed of 15 knots. The power package is a pair of MTU 8V 4000 M63 diesels.
Interestingly, this launch takes places nearly two years to the day after the first hull launched.
