Tradition in superyacht construction holds that you have to wait years to take delivery. Yet, the code-named Project Revolution yacht can be in your hands within 24 months of signing a contract. The long-range cruiser, with Dutch design, engineering, and construction, is already in build.
Jongert, a shipyard celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, has the steel-hulled megayacht under its roof. A visionary owner commissioned her, based on a Vripack concept design, in 2017. The 155-footer (47-meter) is for traveling the world with ease. Simultaneously, she is for enjoying areas quietly and less impactfully, with diesel-electric propulsion. To that end, Vripack engineered her for a range of 4,500 nautical miles, more than enough to cross the Atlantic. Additionally, it recommended a battery bank to handle loads while the yacht is enjoying slow cruising or overnighting at anchor. Cruising speed should be 11 knots. Top speed, meanwhile, should be 13½ knots.
A comfortable beam of 31 feet (9.5 meters) is good news for the relaxation and social areas. Since the Project Revolution yacht construction is still in relatively early stages, you have the opportunity to arrange rooms as you wish. So, for example, you can put your suite forward on the main deck, with up to four more cabins for family below decks. Floor-to-ceiling windows on the upper deck, meanwhile, would make a sky lounge or even an alternate master stateroom feel welcoming. Ultimately, it’s up to you and the designer you choose.
Whatever you do decide, though, take note of the large tender hatch forward, at the bow. It frees up more social space aft on the main deck and below decks.
Asking price is 32 million (about $34.3 million at press time), excluding VAT. Fraser Yachts holds her central listing.
