In recent weeks, multiple media reports have chronicled distressing stories about marine life. For instance, whales have washed ashore with enough plastics in their digestive systems to fill a giant garbage dumpster. Still other TV, print, and online reports focus on toxic algae blooms. Thankfully, more people are cognizant of their environmental responsibility. Businesses are, too. Yachting, for example, where motoryachts are criticized as “stinkpots” and contributors to greenhouse gas problems, has seen strong mobilization in recent months. Along those lines, the non-profit Water Revolution Foundation has taken a significant step forward.
Established last year, Water Revolution Foundation is an industry-driven initiative focused on ocean conservation and preservation. Among the goals: promote sustainable solutions for design, construction, and operation of yachts. Water Revolution Foundation is now embarking on making these a reality, thanks to signing nine anchor partners. Abeking & Rasmussen, Alexseal, Amels/Damen Group, Benetti, Feadship, Heesen, Lürssen, MB92 Group, and Rybovich have each come aboard to assist.
The Junly edition of the MegayachtNews.com newsletter contains more details about Water Revolution Foundation, as well as other current news.
