Social media has a tremendous influence on all sectors, including yachting. In fact, Tankoa Yachts is among the superyacht builders gaining a higher profile based on their content. With the Project Stardust yacht concept, it’s taking social media outreach to a higher level. It created the design with input from the well-known influencer and yacht broker The Yacht Mogul, who additionally has gleaned strong insight into yacht buyers’ preferences.

Rather than simply strive for publicity, Tankoa Yachts started the process with a short specifications outline, for realistic engineering. Next, according to Giuseppe Mazza, Tankoa’s sales manager, it decided to give some up-and-coming designers a chance to collaborate. After providing them with the specs sheet and reviewing their submissions, the shipyard selected Abbasli Design. Mazza says the “sporty modern” profile from the studio and the overall design characteristics resonated with its philosophy. Since Abbasli Design isn’t a naval-architecture studio, Tankoa ensured structural bulkheads were in proper places and equipment had enough space.

With a volume of 1,250 gross tons and an LOA of 207 feet (63 meters), the Project Stardust yacht concept combines strong angles with soft shapes. Most noticeably, Abbasli Design penned a sinuous, inverted “S” to lead your eyes from the wheelhouse down to the beach club’s platform. Additionally aft, open sections lend a vigor to the look while also lending a heightened sense of roominess and airiness to the alfresco areas. Meanwhile, a crow’s-nest-like viewing area sits atop the wheelhouse, reachable via stairs out on deck aft. Similarly, an outdoor lounge just in front of the wheelhouse is ideal for watching shores come into clearer view—or, befitting the concept’s name, stargazing at anchor.
For an interior design to match well with Abbasli Design’s ideas and of course its own ethos, Tankoa Yachts selected Giuseppina Arena. Based in Miami, Arena has worked on multiple megayachts and with several owners. Certainly, buyers will appreciate the elongated pool and accompanying beach club. With a bar and folding platforms on each side, the beach club can be a sophisticated entertaining area. It can also be a soothing wellness lounge, since it leads into a spa and gym forward.

Even though Arena’s ideas for the Project Stardust yacht include a traditional saloon and formal dining area on the main deck, it breaks with convention by putting all the guest staterooms on this deck, too. Very Important People in your party get a full-beam suite, appropriately, with all staterooms benefitting from full-height windows. Your suite has prime real estate: the full upper deck. Wake up and take a dip in your private pool forward, and later on take a helicopter ride (the helipad is on your deck as well) to see the sights from the air.

Just decide what tenders and toys you wish to stow in the garage, and work with Tankoa and the designers to finalize the delivery details.
