When Numarine revealed its first diesel-electric explorer, the 30XP, in 2022, the raised-pilothouse design quickly attracted attention. Five customers soon signed contracts, with the first project launching next spring. While customers are tailoring the layout to their tastes, the Numarine 30XP yacht interior affords them an interesting option, a Scandinavian décor. As Ömer Malaz, the yard’s founder and chairman, explains, “We were inspired by a sustainable, Scandinavian design aesthetic which prioritizes simplicity, minimalism, and functionality,” in some ways like the diesel-electric system. He adds, “We want to offer the feeling of being at home even when you are far out at sea.”
With accommodations for 10 people in the owners’ party, the 101-footer (31-meter) should see a best range of 3,000 nautical miles at 11 knots. The maximum speed is 13 knots, in keeping with the priority on long range, with a pair of low-horsepower MAN diesels as stand-alone propulsion or part of the diesel-electric system.
For better appreciating the far-flung areas that clients are encouraged to visit, the Numarine 30XP yacht layout includes a main-deck master with floor-to-ceiling windows. Bulwark cutouts improve the views, too. An optional balcony in the suite, meanwhile, invites owners to step outside to greet the day.
Overall, the shipyard and designers—primarily Can Yalman, though Ofist Design Studio is contributing, too—want owners and guests to appreciate vistas no matter where they are. “Having lots of natural light inside and being able to enjoy the surrounding scenery is an integral part of the design,” Malaz explains. “We believe that you need to enjoy being inside the yacht as much as being outdoors.” It explains why alfresco dining can take place on the Numarine 30XP yacht beneath the covered sundeck and/or on the main aft deck. Ultimately, dining can take place elsewhere, too, including inside the main deck, since owners can tailor the layout.
Owners, along with friends and family, certainly will want to spend good time in the beach club. It encompasses 463 square feet (43 square meters) when the three fold-down platforms deploy. Notably, Numarine raised the deck area directly above to provide more headroom. Simultaneously, that area, three steps higher than the rest of the main deck, creates a perch-like lounging and conversation area.
Finally, as much as cruising is an escape from everyday life, Numarine realizes clients want or need contact with the office. Therefore, the master suite has space for a study, where the desk can face a big window. It might be the incentive to finish work faster to get back to the “work” of playing on the water.
