Long-range cruisers in the Outer Reef Yachts family have a new place to enjoy their travels while onboard. It’s due to customers asking for more private space to entertain and relax. All of the yachts and megayachts in Outer Reef’s Classic Series will now have the Serenity Foredeck Lounge as an option.
This lounge is, as the name states, fully forward on deck. According to Outer Reef, while a number of its owners tie up in marinas requiring stern-to docking, not all enjoy the “see and be seen” foot traffic and general busyness of these marinas. Additionally, they don’t want to have to head inside for the privacy they want.
Traditionally, motoryachts like the long-range cruisers from Outer Reef have kept foredecks purely for docking, line handling, and anchoring tasks. The builder has redesigned the area so that these musts can still take place, while simultaneously providing a relaxing respite.
Making the Serenity Foredeck Lounge optional on the Classic Series means it can go aboard nearly 20 models. Specifically, the models from about 58 feet (17.7 meters) on up into megayacht territory. In fact, you can request the Serenity Foredeck Lounge for the Outer Reef 24M, 880 Cockpit MY, 108 Explorer, and 115 Explorer, among others.
Regardless of model, the lounge can serve multiple purposes, too. Sit and enjoy the view, and good company, for cocktails. If you have a crew, the side-deck access means they can go to and from the galley with relative ease. Equally easy, if you’re an owner-operator, Outer Reef can install a refrigerator beneath the seating. Alternately, the lounge can convert to a dining area for eight people. On a related note, Outer Reef provides a sunshade to extend over the area to keep you cool while you dine, if you wish. Similarly, this shade can stay up when cruising at just a few knots of speed. And finally, the seating can convert to a large sunpad, where you can further remove the seating backrests.
