Six years ago, Maiora introduced a 100-footer (30.5-meter) that has gone on to become one of its most popular series. In fact, the eighth Maiora 30 yacht just launched this week at its shipyard in Viareggio, Italy.
One of the features that attracts buyers is the ample flying bridge. Specifically, it covers 1,184 square feet (110 square meters). In combination with the sporty superyacht’s nearly 25-foot (7.5-meter) beam, the overall alfresco atmosphere is quite enjoyable. Although the shipyard hasn’t disclosed how the owner of the eighth Maiora 30 yacht configured the flying bridge, a few choices exist. For instance, a second helm forward to starboard is pretty popular. So, too, is including a dining area, a bar with barstools, and a conversation lounge. Some owners further like to incorporate built-in sunpads to either side of a hot tub fully aft up here. Others, though, prefer loose lounges across the aft area. Either way, no steps separate this relaxation area from the raised-foredeck lounge and sunning spot.
Yet another relaxation area is right at the water’s edge. Maiora tucks a cozy settee directly into the transom. It’s a day-to-night area, too. For example, during the day, parents can keep an eye on the kids zipping around with Seabobs or other watertoys. At night, it’s a terrific after-dinner cocktail and/or conversation lounge.
In regards to watertoys, a variety stow away in other areas, too. The owner of the eighth Maiora 30 yacht has a 20½ -foot-long (6.25-meter) Williams tender stowing in a side garage. This same garage can hold small toys like the Seabobs and other gear. There’s no need to launch the main tender to access them, either. The crew can lift the stairs flanking the transom settee. Or, they can open the full upper section of the transom via the press of a button. Lastly, a separate garage forward can keep a three-seater PWC.
With a volume of 200 gross tons, this 100-footer keeps a good-size party comfortable inside, too. The forward main deck is for the master suite, while all guest staterooms are below decks. Notably, instead of mixing twins and doubles down below, the owner of this project chose four VIP staterooms.
Sea trials should confirm a 23-knot top speed for this wind-in-your-hair megayacht model. Even with making quick work of cruising as a priority, the Maiora 30 should still cover 1,050 nautical miles at 10 knots.
Delivery takes place before the end of spring. Simultaneously, the shipyard is continuing work on the ninth hull in the series. In fact, she sold a few days prior to hull number eight touching the water.
