What better than a celestial reference to sum up the heavenly feeling owners feel on launch day? Meet the yacht Pleiades, which splashed at Codecasa last week. “Pleiades” refers to a star cluster in the well-known constellation Taurus.
Compared to most of the launches occurring in Europe these days, Pleiades is pretty petite, “just” 110 feet in length (33.5 meters). This doesn’t mean she’s short on amenities or abilities, however. In fact, the entire idea started with Luca Dini Design, for a project leaning into time-honored styling. This concept even extends to high-gloss mahogany out on deck. (Yacht design doesn’t get much more classic than that.)
Featuring entirely aluminum construction, the yacht is for a pretty private owner and family. Therefore, quite little information is available about the interior design and features. However, one must-have design element straight from the start was mahogany-framed windows—and they are high-gloss, too. Additionally in keeping with time-honored tradition, the saloon has an elegant ambience. A total of 10 people, including the owner, will be able to enjoy good conversations, cruising coastlines, swimming, and more together.
One further especially noteworthy feature aboard the yacht Pleiades is the tender garage. Perhaps to ensure the classic profile remains as pure as possible, it becomes accessible via a side hatch. A 16-foot-long (5-meter-long) tender stows inside, beneath the deck.
Equally important, the yacht needed to adhere to the longstanding practice of long, leisurely cruises. Although sea trials should confirm a 21-knot top end under MAN power, the yacht Pleiades should cover 1,200 nautical miles at 12 knots, too.
Delivery will take place in time for the summer season.
