An expected top speed of 48 knots and a draft of just four feet (1.3 meters) should convince harbor-hoppers that the AB 110S yacht can do what they want. Some further features, particularly ones not seen on similarly sporty superyachts, enhance living on and enjoying the water.
AB Yachts partnered with EXE Design for the series, an extension of the AB 110 yacht range. “S” in “110S” stands for “Sport.” An industrial-design studio with projects in the automotive, appliance, and yachting sectors, EXE Design brought new ideas to the table. “This project was born from the fusion of automotive design language—developed to highlight the performance of the Sport version—and an in-depth understanding of the technical and functional requirements of yachting,” explains Stefano Bedoni, EXE Design’s co-founder. “This cross-sector approach is the real added value of our work.”

In fact, several of the features buyers will appreciate the most echo the automotive trend of offering consumers flexible ways to let in more sunlight from above. For example, the nearly 111-foot (33.7-meter) AB 110S yacht series has retractable aft-deck shading. The full awning slides out from the aft end of the flying bridge, complete with slats that keep the sun from beaming on your guests. In fact, the awning covers the entire aft deck, from the bar at the saloon entry—also serving the saloon—and the elevated sunpad. Also noteworthy, the shade can remain extended while underway, not just at anchor.
Another twist on shade is the retractable hardtop over the flying bridge. When you’re gathered on the big sunpad fully forward, seek protection when the hardtop activates forward. The aft sunpad, along with your captain at the helm, benefit, too, since the hardtop can shift aft. AB Yachts says the mechanism operating it is quiet as well. If you’d rather the full-sun experience, however, it’s no problem. The hardtop stows flush over the forward sunpad.

Since there’s no such thing as too much natural light, the build and design team created a retractable sunroof for the saloon. It simultaneously brings brightness down the stairway to the four staterooms. (On a related note, eight to 10 people can stay onboard.) But, since projects like the AB 110S yacht series prioritize your time outside, you’ll probably wait until the last moment to retire for the night. Enjoy the “flying couch” at the bow, or the beach area, or both. The flying couch is an elevated, wrap-around settee, perfect for sundowners or enjoying the sunset. The beach area, meanwhile, is 183 square feet (17 square meters) of waterside lounging. Between the raised aft-deck settee and the settee nestled against the transom, your entire party can enjoy time together.
Unchanged, of course, is AB Yachts’ emphasis on performance, especially through waterjets. The new series combines triple MANs with two steerable waterjets and a central booster. Waterjets boost efficiency, especially at higher speeds, plus benefit maneuverability. They also preserve shallow draft.
