An owner and his family, along with an intimate group of friends, gathered at Baglietto’s shipyard the last week of May for a day they’ve been looking forward to for a while. It was the christening and launch of their yacht Andala, a.k.a. Baglietto hull number 10254. She marks the eighth Baglietto DOM133 yacht in the water so far.
They weren’t the only ones on hand, of course. Baglietto’s management team celebrated with the owner. All of the craftspeople who contributed to the build were on hand, too, as were the yacht’s crewmembers.
The Baglietto DOM133 yacht range has been quite successful for the shipyard. To wit, the first yacht in the series debuted in March 2022. The series name comes from her LOA in feet, 133 (40 meters), and the Latin word for home, domus, since Baglietto wants owners and guests to feel as comfortable as they do in their houses.
A draft of 7 feet (2.15 meters) will make travels to a wide variety of ports possible for the yacht Andala. Quick transits from one anchorage to another will be possible as well. Sea trials should confirm a maximum 17 knots and a good range of 3,500 nautical miles at 15 knots, higher than other yachts at that speed. Further notable, in full diesel-electric mode (two gensets), the megayacht should be able to cover up to 5,200 nautical miles at 8 knots.
Since each DOM133 offers customers wide freedom to personalize spaces, the owner of the yacht Andala and his family definitely took advantage. Although images and full details aren’t available, they worked with Giorgio Cassetta for the interiors. Overall, five staterooms treat them, plus friends, to enjoyable nights onboard.
On a related note, this launch marked the fourth of the year for the shipyard. “Our brand’s having a truly amazing spring,” notes Fabio Ermetto, Baglietto’s CCO. Remarkably, he adds, “three more—two DOM133 and a T52—are going to hit the water by mid-June.”
