The owner of the first DOM 133 from Baglietto is weeks away from taking delivery, since the launch just occurred this past week.
The series name comes from her LOA in feet, 133 (40 meters), and the Latin word for home, domus. The concept is a home away from home, for owners and guests to feel as comfortable as they do in their houses. A draft of 7 feet (2.15 meters) makes travels to a wide variety of ports possible, as does transatlantic range. Baglietto anticipates an extraordinary 7,500 nautical miles while the megayacht is in diesel-electric mode. Additionally, better rest and relaxation at anchor comes from batteries powering the hotel load. For ocean crossings, or for making quick work of a trip, the crew can engage the twin Caterpillars. Sea trials should confirm a maximum 17 knots under diesel power.
This first DOM 133, one of five in build, has spaces similar to many superyachts, along with unusual areas. For instance, the main-deck saloon can become an indoor-outdoor area thanks to sliding glass doors . Each of the yacht’s decks has alfresco lounges, sunning areas, and cocktails/dining areas. Plus, the guests can relax right at the waterline in the open-air, two-level beach club. Lounges are on the lower level, while an infinity pool commands further attention on the upper level. In fact, its floor rises to sit flush with the surrounding deck, creating more usable space.
During the launch ceremony, Fabio Ermetto, CCO for Baglietto, noted why this particular project was extra exciting for the team. “The DOM 133 is, indeed, a project we strongly believed in from the very beginning, and its market success so far proves its value,” he says.
The owner may cruise the Med after delivery this summer. If you’re planning to attend the Cannes Yachting Festival in September, you can get a good look at her.
In the meantime, work continues on the other hulls in the series. All see delivery through the next two years.
