Baglietto DOM155 Yacht Is the Larger Length Buyers Want

The Baglietto DOM133 yacht series premiered in 2022, netting 12 customers to date. The smaller of the DOM sisters, the DOM115 (below), has attracted four clients so far, too. Baglietto is adding a larger project to this home-awa-from-home series, and not for size’s sake. The Baglietto DOM155 yacht “is the result of listening carefully to our clients and, more broadly, to the market,” explains Fabio Ermetto, the yard’s chief commercial officer.

In fact, he continues, as much as customers gravitate toward the two DOM models, some have “repeatedly” requested larger lengths. With that, they want more space to tailor. So, the shipyard team worked with Studio Vafiadis, which has styled the rest of the DOM line, to come up with a solution. The two knew that keeping volume within the 500-gross-ton level was important, for simpler regulatory compliance. They settled upon an LOA of 155 feet (about 47 meters) with more flexibility, yet also the signature features of the series.

Those signature features include the beach area, for instance. An infinity pool is the center of attention and activity throughout the day. Guests can use the adjacent swim platform to take a dip in the sea or board watertoys. Additionally, since it incorporates a transformer section, the swim platform yields access to docks at elevated heights. Terraced decks surrounding the pool lead to an upper conversation or observation area—or another alfresco enjoyment area of the owners’ imagination. Equally noteworthy, the port-side stairs connecting the upper and mid-level spaces lowers for crew to enter the beach club contained underneath.

The fact that a traditional beach club complements the beach area is a big benefit of this larger superyacht series. Owners have free reign to design the club as a lounge, for example, or a wellness area with a gym and spa. A further choice could be an additional tender garage. (The main tender and toys stow in a foredeck garage.) Whatever the preference, a shell door outboard to port folds down. If owners make the inside area a lounge or wellness area, the open shell door becomes an ideal arrival and departure platform.

Speaking of opening, Studio Vafiadis has designed glass doors between the conversation/observation area and the interior of the Baglietto DOM155 yacht. The studio recommends situating the dining area immediately inside the doors, for a more enjoyable indoor-outdoor experience. Both the galley and a pantry sit a little farther forward, for practical purposes. (Of course, the galley also includes a dumbwaiter for swift service to yet another dining area clients usually want, the alfresco one on the upper deck.) And, in another example of opening an interior room to the outside, the upper-deck saloon aboard this megayacht has sliding glass walls on three sides.

Larger yachts mean larger guest capacities, and more options for treating family and friends like VIPs. Although four guest staterooms sit below decks, the Baglietto DOM155 yacht has the option for a fifth VIP on the upper deck. Owners get the royal treatment in their own suite, featuring a California king bed and still plenty of room for a walk-in wardrobe and his-and-her bath.

With “clean and sculptural” lines according to Stefano Vafiadis of Studio Vafiadis, the Baglietto DOM155 yacht complements her sisters well. Her performance should, too, with an anticipated 16-knot top end and transatlantic range. One of the best places to enjoy these voyages will be the sundeck, encompassing 1,399 square feet (130 square meters). Besides the views, it boasts an infinity pool with a bar, sunning space, and more seating for good conversations.
