Increasingly, Hargrave Custom Yachts is collaborating with international designers to showcase aesthetic diversity while remaining rooted in its typical engineering. Gabriele Teruzzi is the latest, penning this Hargrave Signature E-Series Tri-Deck. This young Italian brings significant experience with some of the major superyacht builders and design studios. Simultaneously, he infuses the Signature E Series Tri-Deck with refinement and made-in-Italy materials.
The Hargrave Signature E Series has been one of the most successful ranges for Hargrave. The first delivery was the 116-foot (36-meter) yacht Romeo Foxtrot, in 2023. The second Romeo Foxtrot for the same owners came a year later, a 118-footer (36-meter). Two further E Series megayachts have been delivered, with a 132-foot (40-meter) E Series Tri-Deck coming next year.
Overall, the series spans LOAs 108 to 132 feet (33 to 40 meters). Regardless of designer, sporty, chic lines have been a priority, appealing to a wider—and younger—group of buyers. In-demand features like floor-to-ceiling glass, lower bulkheads, and full-beam interiors characterize their designs, too.
As for Teruzzi, he established Gabriele Teruzzi Yachts & Design a decade ago. This followed several years of working for AM Yacht Design, the well-known studio of Alberto Mancini. Teruzzi therefore contributed to production boats and megayachts from Fairline, Azimut, and Mangusta, among others. Since hanging his own shingle, he’s worked alongside Lürssen and Fincantieri Yachts as well. With the former, he designed a 361-foot (110-meter) concept. With the latter, he designed a few concepts between 213 and 262 feet (65 and 80 meters).
According to Hargrave, Teruzzi looked to the arts—classical music in particular—for ideas for the Hargrave Signature E Series Tri-Deck. Although the final LOA is the owners’ choice, the styling has a distinct rhythm and harmony, the same way music does. Nothing extraneous or for the sake of flair appears. Naturally, as an Italian—Teruzzi was born in Milan in 1988—the designer draws interior inspiration from marbles, leathers, and more from his home country. Since natural light is a must on every owner’s list, he highlights it with a light color palette. The colors and textures should hold as much attraction a few years after delivery as well.
Finally, Hargrave and Teruzzi have two layouts from which to choose, differing primarily in one area. Instead of having an enclosed lounge, the superyacht can have a “Veranda Deck,” where the leisure area becomes a nearly-open-air space.
