Antonini Navi XPD95 Yacht, the Swagger of an Explorer Without The Expedition

In 2022, Antonini Navi sold a contract for a fully custom XPD88 yacht to an avid explorer. At that time, Aldo Manna, the yard’s co-founder and sales director, asserted, “The XPD88 will open up a new market for Antonini Navi, that of metal pleasure boats, which have seen exponential growth in recent years, especially abroad.” His prediction has come true with the sale of an XPD95 yacht. She, too, is custom. More importantly, she may appear to be an explorer, but she’s bound for the Med.

According to the shipyard, when the owner saw the XPD95 drawings, he had a strong affinity for the styling, from Studio Sculli and Matteo Covini Studio. The raked wheelhouse windows, for instance, are direct descendants of the pilothouses aboard oceangoing tugs. The strong, high bow and other purposeful lines echo the features of workboats and explorer yachts. However, the owner didn’t intend to take on challenging conditions around the world. Instead, he wanted that indomitable spirit to pair with a more comfortable cruising schedule. With Manna and the designers over several months of in-person meetings, he adapted the XPD95 yacht to reflect more luxurious intentions.

Polished stainless steel in operations-focused areas is just one example. So, too, are ample outdoor areas. Perhaps the strongest and most readily visible space is the multi-function beach area, measuring 377 square feet (35 square meters). While underway, the Antonini Navi XPD95 yacht stows a RIB on the deep, semi-enclosed platform. Upon arrival at an anchorage, though, the 16-foot (5-meter) tender can launch via the transformer swim platform, and the crew can set up umbrellas and loose sunlounges on deck. Swim steps further deploy from the platform for convenience. Guests have even more fun at their fingertips, since SeaBobs tuck inside the semi-enclosed beach area, too.

This steel-hulled 95-footer (nearly 29-meter), with a volume of 199 gross tons, also makes a concerted effort to cater to both the owner and the crew. For instance, the owner has much of the upper deck as a private deck, unusual for this LOA. About 270 square feet (25 square meters) of it is the aft-facing bedroom. Another 377 square feet (35 square meters) of alfresco areas are spread between a forward lounge/observation area and an aft sunning space. Additionally, the owner can retreat here either from within the yacht or a protected stairway on the port-side deck. As for the crew, the galley is once again sizable for this LOA and on the main deck. Further unusual, both the laundry area and a flex cabin/stowage room are adjacent to it. Although two triple-berth crew cabins are below, they’re amidships, not forward, where nearly all crew cabins go.

With construction starting this fall, the XPD95 will feature eucalyptus wood and lacquered funishes throughout, by Hot Lab. She should be ready for delivery in the summertime of 2028. Camper & Nicholsons, which handles global sales for Antonini Navi, and Daniela Duck, the owner’s representative, are overseeing the build.
