The Genoa International Boat Show is putting a bigger spotlight on superyachts this year. Besides having larger yachts, it features an expanded in-water display and a new area specifically showcasing Italian builders.
From October 1 to 6, the event brings more than 1,000 boats, yachts, and megayachts to Genoa, including 215 new models. Although it doesn’t have the global public profile that shows in Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and Monaco do, it has held significance for 65 years and attracted international exhibitors and visitors. In fact, exhibitors and participants this year represent 45 countries.

For large-yacht buyers, a few more facts are key. Firstly, the overall in-water display space is up four percent compared to last year. According to show organizers, this includes the Yacht & Superyacht dock. Superyacht builders such as Azimut-Benetti, the Ferretti Group, Sanlorenzo, and Amer Yachts should be present. Perhaps more telling, the show organizers say that the average size of the three largest yachts in each show segment has risen 14.1 percent compared with 2025.
Supporting this growth is a new area, Living Made in Italy, which results from a collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency. Dedicated to the country’s boatbuilding expertise above 24 meters (79 feet), it combines yacht displays with related lounges and hospitality spaces. To that end, megayachts from 35 to 50 meters (115 to 164 feet) will be present.

The timing of the show may be partly responsible for the growth. The Genoa International Boat Show is returning to its traditional October dates. In 2025, it was between the Cannes Yachting Festival and the Monaco Yacht Show. Organizers say the shift has encouraged major players to return and helped attract larger yachts.
The show itself stretches well beyond the superyacht docks, too. More multihulls are on display this year, for instance, while the newly completed Palasport Pavilion introduces the Blue Arena. Its programs span boating, start-ups and innovation, maritime careers, sailing, and Italian maritime institutions.

Furthermore, visitors can explore the continuing redevelopment of Genoa’s Levante Waterfront and learn more about Italy’s role in the upcoming 38th Louis Vuitton America’s Cup. The Cup is attracting significant interest among yacht owners who wish to view the racing from their own decks.
