The Feadship facility located in Makkum, The Netherlands has earned a reputation for constructing some of the company’s biggest projects. But, it also has been handling refits right alongside them for a few years now. Even with a drydock for projects to 394 feet (120 meters), though, it’s still not easy moving the megayachts around at times.
Indeed, in recent weeks, the Makkum sheds welcomed in three Feadships for winter work. The management team recorded this video of the maneuvering necessary to make them all at home, so to speak. Moving boats around like this is often likened to a dance, featuring careful choreography. The time-lapse look in Makkum underscores the point. The nearly one minute of footage condenses hours of activity, spread over more than a day, too.
To put their sizes into perspective, one yacht you can easily identify in this video, Seaflower, measures 131 feet (40 meters).
