If you’ll be attending next month’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, you’ll get a chance to see two of Horizon Yachts’ newest megayachts. In fact, its largest to date, the 130-foot Miss Rose, which I’ve written about previously, will be one of them. The other is Adriana III, part of the Horizon Premier 105 series, pictured above.
At 108 feet LOA, Adriana III is a four-stateroom yacht, commissioned by the Corrado family, repeat customers of the yard’s. The layout encompasses a king-size master suite, a king-size VIP stateroom, a queen stateroom, and a twin stateroom. Since small grandkids cruise with the Corrados, the twin stateroom even has a temporary bed guard.
Other areas of the yacht were tailored by Horizon to meet the needs of the three generations of the Corrado family. The four barstools at the granite-topped bar on the main aft deck are all adjustable, for example. The skylounge can serve as the traditional extra saloon or a place to play a rousing game of Monopoly, even to read the latest Clifford book. The grown-ups will appreciate the 50-inch plasma TV in the saloon, the six-person Jacuzzi on the flying bridge, the formal dining room, and the country kitchen—the latter a nice touch, in my opinion, since most 100- to 110-footers don’t combine formal dining with casual dining like this. Then there’s what Horizon calls the “backyard at sea” atmosphere of the upper aft deck, just outside the skylounge. A granite-topped hi-lo table, a bar with three barstools, and twin grills and dual hot plates make for more than the usual solo-grill setup on megayachts of this size.
Adriana III was built using SCRIMP, making for a lighter yet strong hull, and complies with both DNV classification rules as well as the MCA Code of safety.
