Lila-Lou London may only be four years old, but the principals, husband and wife team Kimberly Williams and Alexander Isaac, have both individually and together worked on a handful of megayacht projects. Williams was part of the refit team for the 155-foot Mikado in the late 1990s while working at a previous design firm, and when the owner of the 305-foot Eos approached her a few years later to undertake the outfitting of the interior of his yacht, she was inspired to start Lila-Lou London. Isaac, meanwhile, had a seven-year career with Bannenberg Designs, which he left in July 2008 to join Williams.
The two are focused on expanding Lila-Lou London’s reach further into the superyacht market and recently presented Feadship with an Art Deco concept for its semicustom SL39 series. You can see a handful of drawings at the SL39’s Web site (click Create Your Own Style at the top of the page, then select Lila-Lou), but you won’t see the following short animation anywhere else but here. It showcases the lighting sequence the design team produced, as the yacht goes from day into night, and how the mood in the dining room and saloon changes as a result. This type of animation is a standard part of the firm’s design packages.
