Come late September, Vicem Yachts will introduce the latest and largest model in its Cruiser line, the 100 Cruiser. She’ll help ring in the builder’s 20th anniversary, featuring the same mahogany toe rails and cold-molded construction that are hallmarks of all Vicems. But in keeping with the higher-end focus of the Crusier range, she’ll have additional luxury touches.
The Cruiser range emphasizes volume, so the Vicem 100 Cruiser should make buyers feel they’re aboard a much larger yacht. For example, Vicem says the nearly 754-square-foot flying bridge is akin to one aboard a megayacht measuring 30 feet longer. With a beam just shy of 24 feet, interior spaces should be comfortable, too. Notable among them is a larger-than-usual, U-shape galley. (Americans are the primary buyers of Vicems and enjoy watching the chef at work, so that’s a key feature.) There’s also a full-beam master stateroom, two VIPs, and two additional guest staterooms. The three crew cabins include two singles, plus a double for the captain, each with private heads, unusual for a yacht in the 100-foot range.
Speaking of range, the Vicem 100 Cruiser will also emphasize long voyages and good speed. As such, twin 1,550-hp Caterpillar engines should permit a 17-knot cruise and 21-knot top end (each at half load). RINA classification (Y Pleasure Class) and compliance with the Maltese commercial yacht code are standard.
