Come May 2013, Vitters Shipyard expects to hand over Inoui, this performance sloop it signed a few months ago.
Measuring 110 feet (33.4 meters), Inoui will have a beam of 23 feet (6.9 meters), which should ensure comfortable accommodations when the yacht is at anchor or enjoying leisurely cruising. But because she’s intended to be a spirited racer, Inoui will bear many features you’d expect to of a true competitor. First off is the composite and carbon fiber hull, presently under construction at Vitters’ Green Marine division in the UK. (It’s anticipated for arrival at Vitters’ Holland base next May.) Inoui marks the fourth carbon-composite megayacht from Vitters.
Next is what Vitters says will be an advanced hydraulic system, being manufactured in house, to push winches and other gear to their top potential. Louis Hamming, Vitters’ director, says, “This will result in the possibility to use many functionalities simultaneously, increasing reaction speed at races.”
With overall design by Philippe Briand, Inoui should draw attention on the performance circuit. Having a green hull as shown will, of course, help as well.
Further quick facts: A lifting keel will allow draft to be 12 feet (3.8 meters) when it’s up and 18 feet (5.4 meters) when it’s down. Inoui will also have a single Caterpillar C7 engine. A genset can bolster power if needed.
Details haven’t been released on what the interior of Inoui will feature, though Andrew Winch Designs is overseeing layout and decor.
