The newest Oceanco quietly moved out of the Dutch builder’s sheds last week and into the water.
As is becoming increasingly common for Oceanco and other megayacht builders, Oceanco is not permitted to release many details about the project at this stage, due to the owner’s wishes. So far the shipyard has only indicated the LOA at 290 feet (88.5 meters) and the hull number of Y707. When the steel hull arrived from its build shed in December 2009, Oceanco also revealed that Y707 bears styling by Sam Sorgiovanni Designs and naval architecture by Azure Naval Architects.

In looking at the photos here, you’ll note there’s an unmistakable, mahogany-like paint stripe delineating her hull. The painted swath further flows down around her transom. There, the lazarette door and area surrounding it, flanked by staircases, bears the wood-like paint finish as well.
If that strikes you as being familiar, it is. A faux wood paint treatment on the hull is the hallmark of another Oceanco megayacht, Anastasia. In fact, the paint job on the 248-foot (75.5) Anastasia, delivered in 2008, was so realistic that a group of fellow journalists and I didn’t realize it wasn’t real until we were right up close onboard.
Oceanco will spend the next few months finalizing outfitting of Y707.
