Alloy Yachts has pulled off a three-peat: The third Loretta Anne built for the same client has just hit the water.
Previously referred to by Alloy Yachts simply as AY43, her build number, Loretta Anne is one of an increasing number of motoryachts the famed sailing-yacht builder has in its fleet. She’s also its largest motoryacht to date, at 154 feet (47 meters). Como, delivered in 2007, held that distinction until now, measuring 135 feet (41.14 meters).
For further comparison’s sake, the most recent Loretta Anne, delivered in 2009, measured 131 feet (40 meters). That yacht additionally won an International Superyacht Society Design Award.
Perhaps the new Loretta Anne will have the same luck, as she’s from the same design team, namely Dubois Naval Architects and Donald Starkey Designs. She bears some similarities to her predecessor, notably in her styling. Inside, four guest staterooms accompany the master suite. The owner and guests get use of a gym and a flying bridge that can essentially become an open-air space. It’s due to lowering side windows, a nice feature. Surely that will be put to good use in the Bahamas, Loretta Anne’s intended homeport.
More quick facts: Loretta Anne is powered by twin 1,600-hp Caterpillar C32D diesels, for a reported 14.5-knot cruise speed. She has a shallow draft of seven feet (2.21 meters), suitable for the skinny waters of the islands. Beam is a comfortable 30 feet (9.19 meters). And, delivery is set for a few weeks from now.
