Whether it’s a professional sailing race or a friendly superyacht-only regatta, the 82-foot (24.99-meter) Highland Fling has left the competition in her wake more than once. No wonder: The yacht, built in 2009 at Rhode Island-based Goetz Composites, is reportedly capable of 25 knots. Her owner has been an avid yachtsman for many years, owning a variety of sailing yachts and motoryachts alike.
During races, Highland Fling is manned by a 24-person crew. This video, shot during the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta in 2011, shows why she’s quite the collector of trophies.
