Brabus Marine is moving into superyachts for the first time, and it’s doing so with AB Yachts. The two companies have revealed a three-model series spanning 95 to 150 feet (29 to 46 meters), extending the performance-focused Brabus approach well beyond the production boats defining its nautical business so far.
The existing Brabus Marine lineup includes the Shadow series of high-performance boats developed with Axopar. It additionally includes the Brabus Ultima 55 power catamaran created with Sunreef Yachts. The new details about the AB Yachts collaboration elaborate on a partnership they initially announced this summer.
The first to appear is the Brabus AB110 (top and above), premiering this week at the Monaco Yacht Show. Measuring 110’7” (33.7 meters), the composite yacht pairs AB Yachts’ high-performance engineering with Brabus’ signature carbon fiber, dark finishes, and red accents. Three 2,600-hp MTUs coupled with waterjets and a central booster permit a reported top speed of 48 knots and a 41-knot cruising speed.
That performance emphasis ties the partnership together. AB Yachts has long specialized in fast yachts with waterjet propulsion, while BRABUS built its reputation around increasing performance and giving cars, motorcycles, and even residences a distinct visual identity. Giorgio Mattei, deputy chairman of Next Yacht Group (AB Yachts’ parent company), says the collaboration combines “two shared obsessions: performance and the pursuit of excellence.”
The Brabus AB110 yacht also shows how the two companies intend to represent Brabus beyond speed, and beyond two logos. For instance, some exterior elements are carbon fiber. They include the roof spoiler, front wings, and details around the superstructure and engine air outlets. Inside, meanwhile, leather, signature quilting, and other cues from the company’s automotive work are immediately recognizable in the saloon, at the helm, and throughout the four staterooms for 10 people.
The broader story, however, extends beyond the 110-foot megayacht. The 93’4” (28.45-meter) Brabus AB95 shares the same 48-knot maximum speed. She further relies on triple MAN engines and waterjets and accommodates up to 10 guests in four staterooms. Especially important to U.S. East Coast yacht owners, she has a Bahamas-friendly draft. At the opposite end of the size spectrum, the Brabus AB150 yacht is even more noteworthy. Currently under construction at Next Yacht Group’s shipyard in Viareggio, Italy, she is the biggest superyacht in AB Yachts’ history. Of course, that also makes her the biggest Brabus yacht available. She should top out above 40 knots, again with triple MTUs. AB Yachts and Brabus already have her global premiere set for next year’s Monaco Yacht Show as well. Not coincidentally, 2027 is the 50th anniversary of Brabus’ founding, by the father of the current owner and CEO, Constantin Buschmann.
During the reveal of the three models, Buschmann shared how as a child, he and his family often enjoyed boating vacations thanks to his father. Some of those trips occurred in California, when his father conducted business there. (Brabus’ headquarters are in Germany.) Fittingly, the owner of the Brabus AB150 yacht is an American. Overall, Buschmann also says, the three models are the realization of a dream he has long had. “We are taking our marine portfolio into an entirely new dimension,” he notes. Regardless of which model turns someone’s head, he continues, the goal is “to create something that still feels unmistakably Brabus.”
