Come 2017, CRN expects to deliver a 223-foot (68-meter) megayacht to a buyer from China. She’s the largest project the Italian shipyard has sold to a client from the region. The CRN 68-meter megayacht is also among the largest yachts ever bought by an Asian client.
CRN says it signed the agreement just last week in Weifang, China, a coastal city. No word as to where the owner will eventually berth the megayacht. Regardless, the builder believes the signing of the CRN 68-meter gives it momentum going into the Hainan Rendezvous, taking place in Sanya, China in March. CRN is among a number of megayacht yards that has been exhibiting at that show the past few years and keenly interested in attracting Chinese buyers.
Only a few details about the CRN 68-meter have been divulged. She’ll have a 41-foot (12.5-meter beam), will naval architecture by Zuccon International Project. Like J’Ade, the megayacht will have a drive-in tender garage. That same garage also will be part of a permanent beach club, again like J’Ade, outfitted with furnishings. (The video of J’Ade’s float-in tender bay ranks among the most popular ones we’ve ever posted.)
The steel-hulled CRN 68-meter joins six other megayachts under construction. Two are for CRN’s sister companies, Riva and Ferretti Custom Line. Specifically, they’re the Riva 122 Mythos and Ferretti Custom Line 124. The other yachts are all CRNs. There’s CRN 134, measuring 180’4” (55 meters). CRN 133 is the next largest, at 197 feet (60 meters). Next comes CRN 132, at 239’5” (73 meters). And, the largest is CRN 131, at 242’8” (74 meters). Each of the CRN builds bears a different designer, too. CRN 134 is by Nuvolari-Lenard. CRN 133 is from Paszkowski Design. CRN 132 is from Omega Architects, and CRN 131 is from Zuccon International Project.
