Sunreef Yachts’ Ultimate Range has a new model: the Sunreef 156 Ultimate.
The Ultimate Range was initiated in 2010 via a combination of clients’ requests and Sunreef’s own ideas. The goal was to create performance-oriented sailing cats within the megayacht market. The series starts at 70 feet (21.3 meters), and until now, there were two models: the Sunreef 80 Ultimate and Sunreef 165 Ultimate.
At 155’8” (47.5 meters), the Sunreef 156 Ultimate retains the modern, low-profile looks of other Sunreef Yachts projects. The turquoise hull color suggests the Poland-based builder is targeting adventurous, youthful buyers. The 7’2” (2.2-meter) draft should allow them to venture to plenty of places.
Of course, the Sunreef 156 Ultimate also has the tremendous beam that catamarans are renowned for: 62’3” (19 meters). That translates to commodious relaxation spaces on the main deck and flying bridge. The saloon, for example, occupies more than half of the nearly 5,490-square-foot (510-square-meter) interior living areas. It includes a bar, seating/TV watching area, and the dining area. Numerous sunpads on the Sunreef 156 Ultimate flying bridge will keep guests happy. Meals can be served thanks to a barbecue and dining area. Twin helms are up here, too; the primary helm is inside, open to the saloon.
Surely the owners’ party of 12 will spend a good deal of time on the fore- and aft decks as well. In traditional Sunreef Yachts fashion, the two spots are terraced. The upper aft deck can accommodate dining or sunning (the table converts). The ubiquitous trampoline forward is complemented by a nice-size sunpad.
Further nice in size is the master suite. As you’d expect of a megayacht of this LOA, the Sunreef 156 Ultimate situates it forward on the main deck. It spans the full beam. Floor-to-ceiling windows should make it feel airier, as should whitewashed joinery (contrasted with glossy black accents). Guests get five staterooms below decks, split between the hulls. Because of the main deck’s devotion mostly to relaxation, the galley goes below decks, too. It’s in the starboard hull, between one of the engine compartments and a guest stateroom. (A dedicated crew stairway will yield access to the galley from the main deck.) Four to eight crew are housed fully forward. The general-arrangement rendering released thus far shows the four-person configuration. With eight crew, the Sunreef 156 Ultimate would gain two more cabins in the forepeaks.
Sunreef Yachts has not yet started construction on the Sunreef 156 Ultimate. Building will begin upon signing a contract, as is the case with the 165 Ultimate.
