The luxury-watch brand Franck Muller has joined forces with The Italian Sea Group to create yet another new brand, Franck Muller Yachts.
The Italian Sea Group is withholding images of Franck Muller Yachts from the media until the Monaco Yacht Show. Full details about the yachts are also being kept under wraps until then. For now, we know the first model for Franck Muller Yachts will be the Franck Muller 55, measuring 55 feet (about 16.8 meters). She is currently in build and should make her global debut at the yacht show. Subsequent models will be megayachts, including an 80-footer (24.4-meter) and 100-footer (30.5-meter). The Italian Sea Group does not have either of these hulls under construction at present.
Construction for Franck Muller Yachts is taking place in a new build shed on The Italian Sea Group’s site. The Franck Muller 55 will be all composite, while the megayachts will likely be metal. The shed further contains a showroom where clients can select woods and soft goods to be used for the interior of their particular project.
We’ll have more details on the megayachts once The Italian Sea Group reveals them. In the meantime, if you’re wondering where the idea for Franck Muller Yachts came from, the builder says it was through a chance encounter between the two companies’ CEOs.
